Respect
You so desperately desire to be respected,
You long for the final approval,
From all of those you obviously distrust.
You dont show the right respect,
To receive the right respect.
You seem to be missing the point,
Let me show you from my perspective:
If you want my respect, you must deserve it.
You need to ask and not demand of me,
The things you arent so very willing to do.
You need to say thank you when I do for you,
And Im sorry when you do to me.
You need to accept and move on,
When you are informed you were wrong.
You shouldnt be upset when I say,
That I screwed up by the end of the day,
For I am aware of my error
And am working to end the terror
Of my poorly chosen choices.
If you need a shoulder to cry on,
I shall try to be the softest of all your pawns.
In the bottom of your sadness,
You should feel no loneliness,
For I will not walk, until you push
Me so far away I cannot see you fall.
Dont loose faith when everyone else has,
As quietly as I can, will never fail
To respect you enough to hold the door,
For you to leave this void when you are ready.
I can say that you dont give up so easily,
But you loose patience as the day grows flimsily.
You yell when you should be calm,
And youre calm when I expect a qualm.
I dont understand youre motive,
As it changes with your adaptive,
Sense of judgment as to whats right
And to what is wrong.
But Im tired of being lured,
Into the falsest sense of security.
To where I feel so safe,
To become a waif,
As you forsake me,
Mind, body, and soul.
We do not agree most days,
We do not get along in many ways,
But for now, I will set aside,
For I feel as though I have cried,
My last tear of guilt and blame.
